Astro Eight started with one projector on a bedroom ceiling and a hand-me-down refractor that took a whole winter to figure out. The gap we kept running into was advice. Plenty of shops will sell you a telescope. Very few will tell you what you will actually see through it on a normal night.

Asked before every order

How big a room will a projector actually cover?
The entry unit fills a standard bedroom with an eight to nine foot ceiling. The larger units cover a living room or a vaulted ceiling and hold their contrast at that size. Tell us the ceiling height and we will tell you which one to get rather than selling you up.
I have never used a telescope. Which one should I start with?
Almost always a refractor on a simple mount. It needs no maintenance, it is ready in two minutes, and the moon and planets through one are what actually hook people. Deep sky objects want more aperture, and that is a second purchase, not a first one.
Do you help with setup?
Yes, on every order. Bundles include a scheduled call. Single item orders get a walkthrough whenever you ask for one. In person or virtual, whichever is easier for you.
How do I place an order?
Reach out and tell us roughly what you are after. We send back a short recommendation and a price, you confirm, and we assemble and ship it. There is no cart to fight with and no account to create.
What is the return policy?
Thirty days on anything, in original packaging, for a full refund. Optics are personal and a scope that does not suit you is not worth keeping. Return shipping is on us if the recommendation was ours.
Can I photograph what I see?
The moon and the brighter planets, yes, with a phone adapter on almost any scope. Deep sky imaging needs a tracking mount and a camera adapter, which is what the Deep Sky Kit is built around. Ask and we will be straight about what your setup can do.
Do you ship everywhere and how long does it take?
We ship nationwide. Stocked items leave within two business days. Bundles take three to five while they are assembled and tested. You get a confirmation with the window before anything ships.
